Topic #5: Nails - My Favs

Really late with this post - rough two weeks at work which left me not so motivated to write.  But here we have the next topic for the #2014BloggerChallenge: nails.  I used to bite my nails all the time, at times to the point where I was bleeding.  I started to make a real effort to stop around high school and when I started going to college, I began to paint my nails on a regular basis.  This really helped me get over the nail biting habit.  In the span of a couple of years, my collection of polish grew from 10 to over 200 bottles.  However, my 'obsession' has died down which does help my wallet and while I have still have a long wishlist of the polishes I want to buy, most are on the pricier side of the spectrum and those purchases need to be planned out.

But today, I thought I would so you some of my favorite polishes that I have in my collection. It's a bit random but these would be counted in my top choices.

CND Stickey base coat.  This has been my go-to base coat for years now.  The brush isn't the best but I can deal with it.  I really believe that the tacky finish it has does help the staying power of my manicures.

These are from Etude House. They are the base colors from the pink and gold Party Queen gradation sets.  I like to wear these when I've had bad breaks and need to file my nails down really short or when I want a more neutral color.
Another Korean brand, I discovered these on the MUA nail board.  I actually have a few more colors, but these are the ones I use the most.  They also were my first flakie polishes though I believe the Opal Glitter line have been discontinued (though FabulouStreet may still have some of the colors in stock).  I never get any chips in my manicure when I wear Nfu-Oh polish, though it can be pain to remove (even the non-glitter polishes).
One of my favorite purple polishes in my collection, this photo doesn't show off how gorgeous this polish is.  RBL Scrangie was a part of the first blogger collection RBL put together (there is also Scrangie 2.0 though I haven't bought it yet).  One of the most expensive polishes that I have in my collection but the polish has a good formula and is worth it.  It's also one of the very few colors that I bought a backup for.
One of the first L'oreal polishes I've ever bought, this is Amazon's Flame.  I wore this when I went to Hawaii a couple of years ago.  It has a jelly finish and went without a chip for about 4 days.  A perfect color for summer.

This hardly scratches the surface of my collection but I am quite fond of these polishes.  Do you have a favorite polish or a Top 10?

  1. I have a very small collection compared to yours but I'm slowly building it up. I'd like to try the Sally Hansen but my favourite brand has to be Essie although I only own one of those.
